I have been wrestling since I was five years old, and I have found it to be the most rewarding choice I have ever made. Through wrestling, I have learned that nothing comes easy and that you must persevere through trials before you ever reach success. I have learned that sometimes you fail, but in order to excel you must first put in the work yourself. I have learned how to help my teammates succeed, and how to be a leader by example both inside and outside of the wrestling room. I have learned how to be humble through the many times I have been humbled on the mat. As a result of all of the time I have spent working on technique, conditioning, strength, and weight management, I have come to love the sport of wrestling. It used to be that I just loved winning the matches and tournaments, but that is definitely no longer the case. I now understand how important going through practices with my teammates is and how rewarding team success can be.
I wish to continue learning and growing through wrestling while receiving my next level of education. While wrestling has never come above my faith, family, or education, it has always been right there with me. I can think of nothing better than to continue competing in the sport that has become such an important part of my life after my High School career is over. I would love the opportunity to do this as a part of a team that is able to advance my wrestling career just as much as I am able to assist the team.
