Jakob DeLuca '25 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Junior at The Poland Seminary High School in Northeast Ohio and plan on attending college after graduation.  Although I am currently undecided on a field of study, I am interested in Business, Law, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Chiropractic Studies.  I maintain a high GPA and challenge myself by taking Honors, Advanced and AP classes (currently - Advanced US Government & AP English).  Although I have played many sports growing up, wrestling is my passion.  I have been a wrestler since I was in first grade and want to continue wrestling in college.  I have always been told that I am one of the hardest workers in the wrestling room and I feel that by working hard and having a positive attitude it encourages others to work hard.  I believe that I am a coachable athlete who is always open to learning new technique and strategies.  In an effort to develop and refine my wrestling skills, I have attended training sessions at various wrestling clubs and collegiate wrestling camps.  I made the varsity wrestling team as a freshman and have continued to develop as one of the leaders in the wrestling room.  Entering this season as a junior, I was voted in as team captain alongside two seniors.  As my high school wrestling journey continues, I aspire to be the best I can be and advance to the State of Ohio Wrestling Championship.  When not practicing or competing, I like to spend time with my family and friends.  I also spend time volunteering in the community by working concession stands for school events, community day clean-ups, and at youth wrestling events.
