As a wrestler, I have grown every year I have been involved with the sport. My freshman year I really took off and at my high school regional, I qualified as a state alternate. As a sophomore, although I had to make weight at 195 all season, I wrestled my regional weighing just 198, and competed in the 220 bracket. I broke my school's record and became the first sophomore to win a regional title, and the first sophomore to qualify for state, despite that huge weight difference. My junior year, my drive and want for that first place medal grew even more. I again won my regional at 220, and went on to go triple overtime in the semi-final match at state. I ended up with fourth place, but still closer to the top of the podium where I long to be.
Even though the phrase, "I am a hard worker" is somewhat cliche, for me I think its the truth. With those inprovements, it shows I put in the work, and improve myself every season.
Wrestling is something I am passionate about. I have been wrestling since I was nine. However, that's not the only thing important in my life. My education is very important to me. That will play a huge role in making my college decision.
