I strive to develop into the best wrestler I can be when I finally have the privilege of becoming a collegiate athlete. It is apparent many of my teammates throughout the years looked up to the leader of the team - I want to be that person and aspire to lead by example. I know I am a good candidate for your institution because I am an extremely motivated hard worker. I refuse to stop training or studying until I succeed in meeting my goals. Furthermore, my character is much different from most wrestlers. I have overcome tremendous adversity over the past year. Multiple injuries have taught me to never take an opportunity for granted. Family issues, specifically surrounding my sister’s addiction have shown me to always make the best of what you have because you may never have it again. Academically, I have also become a very hard and dedicated worker. I have put education before all of my other priorities and, especially this year, it is showing.
Like school, my wrestling journey began at the age of five and I have come to learn what it takes and am committed to do what it takes to become the best version of myself as an athlete, student and individual.
