Calvin Rickard '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, 

My name is Calvin Rickard. I started wrestling my sophomore year in high school, when our school started a wrestling program, and immediately fell in love with the sport. I love the grind of the sport and how it feels when my hand is raised after each victory. There is nothing like it. Since the induction of our program I have bonded well with my teammates, so much that I have been voted Team Captain in both of our seasons. I enjoy pushing my teammates to become better, but most of all I am always pursuing greatness in myself. I love to be the best that I can be and I push myself to always learn through film study and mat time. This has quickly become a year round obsession to become the greatest wrestler that I can. My family is always supporting me and helping me achieve success in wrestling and in the classroom. I have always worked hard in the classroom, as I have a current 4.0 GPA. Wrestling in college is my dream, even though I had a late start. My improvement has been substantial, and my mission is to continue to improve everyday to make my family, my school, and myself proud. There is no other sport like Wrestling.
