Personal Statement

Currently I am scholastically ranked second out of 528 students in my graduation class and have been recognized as a NHSCA Academic All American for maintaining a 4.0 GPA while taking honors and AP classes.

Most recently, I took sixth at the Journeymen Fall Classic, NY @ 160 and placed first @ 170 in the Super 32 Qualifier in Eden, NC.

In February, I won the TN AAA State Championship - 160 weight division. Last year, I placed third as a Sophomore and was a state qualifier as a freshman. I competed at the 9th/10th National Duals (8-0 / All American Team) and Cadet Duals for Team TN (6-0 / All Tournament Team). I also represented Team Tennessee at the Junior National Duals, Tulsa, Oklahoma bringing home the best team record ever for our state. Listed as All-American with the percentage of 99.5% via Rankwrestlers.com for the second year.

While I began wrestling in sixth grade, I did not have a passion for the sport until my freshman year. It was at this time I was blessed to work with a former collegiate wrestler from Cornell University, Coach Corey Manson. He quickly become a role model and mentor to me and inspired my desire to wrestle in college. Since then, I have worked diligently in the weight room, class room and practice room to be the best wrestler I can be.

I realize there will be a learning curve jumping from high school wrestling to the collegiate level. However, I will dedicate 100% of my efforts to close this gap and to become a pivotal part of a competitive wrestling team.

Thank you,

William "Chase" Diehl

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
