I started wrestling when I was 4 years old in an AAU club. I changed schools in the sixth grade because my father is a pastor and he took another church. I was without wrestling from 6th grade through my Sophomore year in high school. It wasn't until we moved back home in 2018, which was my Junior year, that I was able to get back into wrestling. My first year back as a Junior, I wrestled up to 162 weighing in at 147.1 and qualified for the TSSAA State Competition. This, my senior year, has been the best I have ever had wrestling. My current record is 26-5 and I am seeded 2nd in my region. Regionals are scheduled for February 15 and I am expecting to get the opportunity to wrestle in our TSSAA State Competition.
As far as academics, I have excelled in honors classes. My best classes are in math and science. I have a current GPA of 3.01 and my highest ACT score was a 26. I am looking to get into Electrical Engineering.
I believe that there are other wrestlers who are better than me, but there are no other wrestlers who will work harder than me. I came off of a 5 year break from wrestling and have worked really hard to get the record I have today. I feel wrestlers should work as hard in practice as they do in a match. Wrestling has taught me to work hard, sacrifice, persevere and respect authority. I am a better person for having wrestled.
