My parents like to tell the story of how I didn’t stop to crawl or walk—at 10 months old I pulled myself up and I started to run. And although I did not wrestle until 9th grade, I have worked hard and continually improved in a sprint toward my goals.
My career goal is to be a plastic surgeon. My dad is an ER doctor and my mom has a PhD in nursing, so I have learned about healthcare from a young age. Plastics appeals to me because I am artistic-I enjoy creating art and am drawn to reconstructive work.
My dad suggested I try a wrestling camp the summer before my freshman year. It was immediately clear to me that it was what I wanted to do. I thrive on pushing myself physically, and supporting my wrestling tribe. I want to wrestle in college to continue the discipline and hard work that has come to define me. Wrestling for a good school will help me realize my goals.
