Ryker Blackburn '20 Recruiting Profile

I began wrestling at the age of three and have loved it ever since. I have enjoyed a lot of success from the beginning. I was a 6 time Super State placer through elementary and middle school, winning the state championship once. I was a 4 time Jr. High State finalist. Through high school I was a 4 time state qualifier, placing 2nd my sophomore year and winning the championship my junior and senior year. I also won the state greco and freestyle championship in 2019. At 6' 3"I'm not your typical wresters build but have learned to use my length to my advantage. Besides wrestling I love to play football, were I've also enjoyed much success, starting on both sides of the ball my junior and senior year. I spend my summers building fence for my dad and know the meaning of hard work. I like to push myself on and off the mat. Whether it's wrestling, football, work, or school I like to be the best I can be. I would love the opportunity to wrestle at the next level as wrestling has been a huge part of my life for so long. I can't imagine it coming to an end yet, I love the sport and all the life lessons it teaches!
