Life has not always been the easiest and as a three-sport athlete, it was wrestling that helped me stay focused through every hurdle life has put in my way. Wrestling has taught me that hard work, determination and the mental toughness to never quit is the only way a person can achieve whatever they put their mind too.
When I was on the path my freshman year to be a state qualifier, I unfortunately was hospitalized for 10 days fighting sepsis from a ruptured appendix. I came back my Sophomore year more determined than ever and I slowly found my footing again. I refused to lose sight of my goal; to be a collegiate wrestler
When applying for colleges I am looking for one that will continue to challenge me to be the best version of myself. I have always had an interest in architecture as I would like to play a part in making the structures on this earth friendlier for our environment. While pursuing this degree, I would also like to be a part of a wrestling team that will continue to structure me into a better person.
Having come from a background where I could not always afford the best clubs or attend the out of state tournaments, I became a hard, resourceful worker to show that I am worth it too. I am also a firm believer that leadership should be shown on and off the mat, spending my spare time volunteering with youth wrestling programs.
I am a very selfless person who has the mind that is willing to learn. I have the mental toughness to do what is best for a team, a coach and a college. I am quick learner and know that I would be an asset to any college that would be willing to accept me.
