I was born in Guatemala. I started playing soccer when I was four years old and really became interested when I was 7. It keeps me fit and is a big part of my Guatemalan culture. My speed takes me far on the field and I am very versatile. Soccer has taught me patience. You lose some you win some; everything doesn’t always go your way. I have also made many friendships through soccer. My goal is to just keep growing and doing as much with the sport as possible.
I have ADHD which means it’s hard for me to focus but in soccer, I can stay super focused. Soccer takes me away from reality for 90mins. I enjoy the competitiveness of soccer and I am always happy when I’m on the field. I used to think of ADHD as a “disease” but I have learned that it’s just that I learn differently and I can use my ADHD to my benefit because I can stay focused for long periods of time on certain topics. I’ve also learned how to overcome things like the fear of meeting new people and teammates.
