I'm Class 2025 at IVLA and enrolled in NCAA-approved courses in the Apex program. I chose this structure to support my travel for competitive swimming without impacting any academic achievements.
While born in the United States, I spent much of my life in the Caribbean and the United Kingdom, moving to North Carolina to push my swimming training in early 2023. My experience includes swimming at both high school and club levels in the UK and a selection to represent the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) in swimming from 2019 to 2022.
From age 12, I started competing in events such as the Caribbean Swimming Championships. This pivotal experience taught me resilience and determination, which I demonstrated when representing TCI at the FINA World Championships in 2021 and 2022 and later at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Now, as part of the elite TAC Titans squad in North Carolina, I specialize in Backstroke and Freestyle, focusing on longer distances. My Club training environment has honed my adaptability, consistency, and positive mindset – attributes I take pride in representing whenever I train or compete.
While swimming is my passion, my ambitions also lie in academia. I aim to pursue Urban Studies in college. I enjoyed piecing together all the aspects of the development of cities across multiple disciplines like sustainability, economics, urban planning, social sciences and others. My multicultural background and the numerous countries I lived and studied in have prepared me for this field. I also interned in various organizations within the field of urban plannings in 2022, 2023 and will start a full internship this summer on a sustainable urban development project.
I am committed to my swimming and my academic life. I strive to perform to the best of my abilities and enjoy pushing my limits. Being part of a team and aiming for something bigger than me ( with a team or country) always motivates me to drop my current times, improve my technique and review with my coaches where I can continue to improve. I am excited to continue my personal and swimming development while aiming to contribute positively to the sport and my community whenever possible.
