Personal Statement

My goal to gain admission to a university that has a passion for learning and challenges me to grow as a student/athlete to reach my highest career and athletic potential. I believe in John Wooden’s simple rule … “Success is a peace of mind, a direct result of self-satisfaction knowing you made the effort: to become the best you are capable of becoming”. I have a strong work ethic, I'm self-disciplined and determined which was instilled in me at a very young age as a junior olympic gymnast; it transcends into everything I do. This sets me apart from many other recruits and defines my character as a player. I have the passion to compete and play and I am a great team player. I do my part to play whatever role is expected of me. I respect the game and its participants. I’m the player who motivates my team. I’m also the player that supports my teammates, lifting them up when needed. I’m not selfish, rather I focus on the smallest details to improve my play each and every practice and game. I take a positive attitude every time I do lacrosse. I’m the player that runs hard after every whistle blow. I use my speed, athleticism, strong lax IQ and versatility to be a threat offensively and defensively on the field. Watch my film to see how I cut/drive to the net and score. I played for my Varsity High School Team freshman year and started every game and lettered in my sport.I have lettered in my sophomore year as well. In addition, my experience playing for two club teams; True Lacrosse PA State Elite Team (7 years) and their National Team (4 years) motivates me to work harder and be an active leader on my Team. I'm proud to say I am the only athlete from PA that plays on the True National Team; an elite team with tryouts from all over the country. Lastly, I personally value taking care of my body as an athlete, focusing on the right nutrition and exercise to regularly maintain my strength as a player. I take time to do extra training so I can maintain my skills and athleticism. I am 100% committed to finding a lacrosse and academics program that will fit my future goals!

  • 2019 True Lacrosse 2022 PA State Elite Team (State Elite Team)
  • “I have had the opportunity to work with Sarah over the past two seasons. The development that I have seen over that period has been incredible, she works as hard if not harder than any kid I have ever worked with, her shot placement, field awareness and just all-around ability has grown 10 fold. What I have seen that makes me so proud is the leadership role that she has taken on the TRUE team. That role was not something she tried to get, it developed organically, that is the sign of a true leader Sarah is the type of player you would far rather that she plays for you than against. I have learned that firsthand!” —Kevin White
