Being a baseball player at an early age and winning a State Championship in Mississippi and Alabama back-to-back is the highlight of my career. I realize that there is no substitute for commitment, dedication, and hard work. Those experiences at an early age in my baseball career helped prepare me to start as a high school pitcher my freshman year; however, I feel as if I developed the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year in high school when our team made it to the Alabama 3A State Championship baseball tournament for the first time in school history. Although we fell short of the championship title, this experience helped me to grow as a person and lead me to refocus my own efforts of becoming a solid player capable of playing at the college level.
I was fortunate enough my sophomore year to be part of an amazing team, winning our area championship and going on to win 4 rounds of playoffs to get to the state championship series. I was again reminded of the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically, as well as academically. I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an impact on your program. Having the experience of playing in 3 state championship games at such a young age, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
