I'm Luke Smith - a future 2023 graduate, and I would like to attend a four-year college where I can shine not only in the classroom, but as well as on the baseball field. I plan to major in business as an undergraduate.
Growing up I have always played baseball, starting from t-ball all the way to varsity high school baseball. Through the years of playing the game, I have learned many things about myself as a player. When I fail at something, I'll never give up and quit. I'll push myself to learn the right way so I can do it correctly. That not only I want what's best for myself, but what's best for my teammates so we can all improve together and be stronger together. My teammates are my second family, they are the ones I know I can go to for anything and that is one of the many reasons why I fell in love with the sport of baseball. My academic goals for the rest of my high school years are to continue to have great grades and to try my absolute hardest to excel no matter the circumstances. For college, I would like to go into business and be able to keep that mentality throughout my four years while in the classroom and on the field. As a player, I possess the absolute determination to succeed in the sport of baseball and in the classroom. I have the mental strength to push myself to continue on my goals and to never give up on something I love. Being coachable has benefited not just me or the coaches, but the whole team. I'm always eager to learn new things and improve on my skills so I can be a better player for the team.
I'm a RHP and a swift center fielder, who is able to track the ball and cover lots of ground, has a quick reaction time, and has the ability to throw from any spot on the diamond and or outfield. In the batter's box, I'm a strong and dependable hitter who reads the ball early to use my power to make contact so I can get on base. The speed I have on the bases is a threat to the opposing defense, and my coaches know that I'll be safe when stealing. I'm a quick kid in playing the game itself and learning new things that come my way. Being able to learn new things quickly will bring success to not just me but my team as well.
If you have any opportunities for a player like me and think I could be an asset on your team, don't think twice to contact me. I would love a shot to come out to a camp or show my skills and commitment for the game.
