  • 2/16/20 Scouting Report: Class Rating 4. Mark is a tall, athletic OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Mark shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with center balance. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball, producing consistent contact and line drives. On the mound, Mark gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Mark shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 66-68mph with late arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Mark is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level. Selected and invited to Arizona Senior Fall Classic in Peoria, Az. • 2019 CALIFORNIA PROSPECT SHOWCASE Mark Prince is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends La Costa Canyon. Long and lengthy build with room to fill out as he develops. Primary outfielder, gets behind the ball well and is aggressive to the ball. Meticulous when fielding out in front. Throws stay on line to the plate and show some carry from a shorter arm action. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a simple low hanging leg lift trigger. Hits off his front side and looks to connect with the ball out in front. Shows an ability to get the barrel head out on inside pitches. Middle to pull side approach with some solid pop to his pull side. Great student in the classroom as well. Younger age for 2021 Class will be interesting to follow as he grows and gets stronger. Very first Perfect Game Showcase to establish a baseline. Recorded a 7.33 second laser-timed 60-yard dash. Outfield velocity of 80 mph. Exit velocity of 83 mph.
