Although I have excelled in many sports in my 16 years, I made a tough decision a few weeks ago to stop playing other sports and focus on baseball. I plan on fully investing my time and effort into baseball and academics the next two years so that I can prepare myself for the next level. I am the youngest of three kids in a family of student-athletes, so I have been competing from a young age. Throughout grade school I played baseball, soccer, golf, volleyball, and other sports, but baseball has always been my passion and my gift. I have great memories of summers playing all-star baseball, traveling to different states with teammates and family, and closing out a championship game in Cooperstown, New York in front of a couple thousand cheering fans.
There are a lot of great and gritty baseball players in the central valley in California, but what makes me stand out is my leadership ability, my athleticism, and the fact that I am left-handed. Although I am only a junior this upcoming year I am already a leader on my team and show leadership through being an example to others, encouraging teammates, having strong communication skills, and being a role model both on the field and off the field. My athleticism has led to a strong start in my first two years in high school where I have played two years of varsity soccer and one year of varsity baseball. My athleticism on the baseball field translates into agility, strong hand-eye coordination, bat speed, speed on the bases, and the ability to cover major ground in the outfield. As a lefty my dream of playing shortstop died at age 10; however, as I have matured I now realize that being left-handed is actually a benefit to me in pitching, hitting, and getting out of the box quickly.
My goal is to play Division 1 baseball and attend a college that will prepare me well for the workforce and challenge me academically. I am playing fall ball for the first time this year and am excited to attend the Junior Fall Classic in Arizona with NorCal, hope to be invited to some ID camps, and prepare for a successful high school season at Bullard High School in Fresno, California.
