Colby Lunsford '21 Recruiting Profile

I began playing baseball at a very young age.  I was 4 when I first joined a little league team, but I could throw and hit when I was 2.  My first word was ball- needless to say baseball has been my passion for as long as I remember.  I have played football, basketball, and volleyball but baseball has always been my number one.  Baseball has taught me that not everything goes the way you want it too, and hard work pays off.  My parents and their continued support and encouragement has played a huge part in who I am today.

 My academic goal for high school is to get a 3.5 GPA or higher for all four years, which I believe is achievable because I ended my 8th grade year with a 4.0.  I want to find a college program that fits me both academically and athletically so that I have the best opportunity to achieve my goals. 

Middle school was not easy for me.  People that I thought were my friends would heckle me when I was at bat and make comments about my bat being corked.  Their harassing comments only made me more driven to prove everyone wrong. It taught me that not everyone is going to support you and at the end of the day all that matters is that you show up and try your best.

I feel that I am a supportive team player. I maintain a good attitude on and off the field. I am not afraid of putting in the hard work to achieve the end goal.
