Not all student-athletes can handle their academic classes. That's why I joined a program at my high school called AVID. AVID is an elective class that drives students toward college. They provide tutors during class time to help you work on your homework, studying for a test, or any questions you have. AVID has helped me see college from a different point of view. In middle school, I didn't really think or care about college. Then I got invited to a meeting during lunch, along with other students. It was about joining the program. I got really excited that day because I saw what AVID had to offer. So, I signed up for it and I got in. AVID has made me new friends that I probably would have never even met before. Most of them I didn't even talk to before this past school year. So, not only is AVID driving me towards college, it has also helped me make new friends. What would make me a good candidate for your team would be the fact that I try to work twice as harder as the next guy not only on the field, but also off of it. What makes me different than most candidates is that I'm on the field almost everyday of the week, working on my swing or working on my fielding. This makes me who I am.
