Hi Coach!
My name J.C. Santini, I am a 17 year old Senior at Woodcreek High School in Roseville California.
I am the starting catcher and captain for my varsity baseball team at Woodcreek High School and played JV as a Freshman and Varsity now for 3 years. What makes me a player that stands out is not only my physical ability but my knowledge of the game and the leadership qualities that I possess.
My approach as a catcher is to develop a quick rapport with my pitchers. I have the ability to read the game and call the game to fit uniquely with that pitcher. I can read opposing hitters and be able to formulate a game plan and execute it as the game develops. I have respect from the pitchers and have been told by many that they prefer me over any other catchers.
I know that in order for me to succeed on the field, I first need to succeed in the classroom. It's important to me to keep my grades at a high level and to be a well rounded student-athlete. I pride myself on having a strong work ethic and hardworking mentality that is needed for success.
I enjoy serving every weekend at Adventure Christian Church as a youth group leader in a 1st and 2nd grade class. My faith is a big part of my life because I believe that God has made me the person and athlete that I am today. I was also involved in student government and am a member of CSF (California Scholarship Federation) and NHS (National Honor Society) at school. I also helped to bring FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) to my high school this year and am the Captain leading the club.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as playing golf, basketball and working out in the off season. I have also played football since I was 7 years old, 2 years on Varsity as the Captain for Woodcreek, but decided to take off this year to focus solely on baseball. Last year, I received "First Team All League" honors for linebacker in our SFL football league and "Defensive player of the Year" for our varsity team.
My goal is to go to a high academic college and play baseball. I love the game and am doing everything I can to achieve my goals and to get better everyday.
