Hello,
My name is Angel Alamilla, I was born on October 06, 2004, in San Bernardino California and I am the youngest of four, currently 5'6 and 155 lbs. This is my junior year at Indian Springs High School in San Bernardino California and although the experience has been different due to the Pandemic, I am very excited and humbled to have been named team captain this year. My strengths are advanced in the middle infield, 3B, and pitching, however, my gold glove position resides at 2B. I also have the ability to play as an outfielder. Although I have the skill to switch hit, my strength and consistency are primarily right-handed. I was the starting second baseman on varsity my freshman year and helped lead my team to CIF for the first time ever in the high schools' history. I started as a leadoff hitter and started and played every game. I was very honored as a freshman on the varsity team to pitch the first CIF game in the schools' history and came out on top with the first win. I am very committed to everything I do. I would describe my personality as quiet, reserved, and very grounded in my faith. I am thankful to God for my family and friends and the talent he has given me. I have a strong academic background, currently enrolled in AP Classes with a GPA of 4.24. I have received many academic achievement awards in honors while balancing extra circular activities along with baseball. I have been nominated for different student-athlete awards. Freshman year I was voted all-league second team and was the recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award. I am also the recipient of the Golden Glove award through California Baseball Academy. In my free time, I like to volunteer my time to The Best Buddies program in California. Best Buddies is a mentoring system for children with disabilities. I am currently a part of the Best Buddy Program at Indian Springs High School and look forward to continuing my involvement in the following two years. Last year I committed to raising money for the program's high school prom and it was a success. I find it very important to help these individuals learn, grow, and experience life as normally as possible. The smiles on their faces are very rewarding. Those who have watched me grow will say I am very passionate about my sport. I have been very fortunate to experience some of the best baseball days of my life. I am very blessed and thankful to my parents, my family, friends, and educators who have supported me throughout my young baseball career.
Some highlights in my baseball career consist of winning a League Championship, Multiple City Championships, and then the California State Championship. I am very thankful to have played for a great Organization, CBA/California Baseball Academy USA. Throughout my years with CBA, I considered myself very fortunate to have traveled throughout the country and compete in high-level competitive tournaments. One of my most memorable experiences was attending USA Baseball Invitational Only at the age of ten and competing with other talented athletes from across the country. I have recently joined Easton Prime Baseball where I am instructed, guided, and mentored by great coaches.
Homelessness has overpopulated the city that I live in and it saddens me to see so many pop-up tents along the park. All ages, races, and have been affected and have very little, some go without food, showers, and clothes. Therefore throughout the year I collect clothes, blankets, jackets and hygiene products to distribute towards the end of the year. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, I love to gather with my family deliver these items, and feed the homeless. My parents are very supportive of everything I wish to do, which helps me be a better person not only in school and sports but also to my community. I am very coachable and always keep this in mind, once I cross those white lines, my primary focus is my team, my coaches, and giving them my best performance. In conclusion, I would like to assure all of the college coaches that show interest in me, that I have a good work ethic and I always seek ways to improve. I have great communication skills, I am always open to listening to advice, and use criticism as a positive tool to better enhance my overall performance in everything I do. I thank you in advance for your valuable time.
Respectfully yours,
Angel Alamilla
