Jack Freedman '14 Recruiting Profile

For a student athlete like myself it's all about competition, in the classroom and on the field. I never strive for less than my best. My passion for baseball transformed my life style at a very young age. Now, everything in my life has been baseball-oriented for the last five years. Giving up weekends to play baseball, just practicing catching ground balls, arm conditioning to build up my strength all have become a part of daily life. Every time a season ends a part of me feels missing. Taking baseball out of me would be like removing water from out daily lives. Keeping up an active social life can be a struggle, but with technology I am always able to keep talking to my friends when I need to, but baseball is what I want to do for as long as I can and baseball is what drives me to become a better student and a better person. As a student-athlete in the classroom I try to take advantage of the opportunities I have to become a better student. I am always trying my hardest and always give my best effort. School allows me to learn new things about myself through my work and the feedback I receive from my teachers and fellow students. Although at times school may seem tough I use it to show what I am capable of as a student and as a person. And then I go out on the baseball field and compete.
