My name is Indiana Guckert. I am a 5’8” sophomore at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, California. From a young age I have wanted to compete athletically at the collegiate level. Having played multiple sports, including being a highly competitive swimmer, I have dedicated myself to being the best soccer player I can be. I am seeking a school that will challenge me academically and athletically, where I can pursue my career ambitions and continue to experience my love of soccer and competition.
After three years playing on an AYSO Extra team, I moved to a club team. I currently play midfield for my silver-elite level club, FC England, and I play outside forward for my school’s varsity team. I am a soft-spoken leader on and off the field and always lead with positivity and encouragement. My FC England coaches named me captain of the team for the 2016-17 season, a successful year in which we earned a promotion from bronze to silver level.
My coaches have always told me that I am a skillful, smart player with good awareness of the whole field. This awareness allows me to make quick decisions and know where to move both on and off the ball. As a midfielder, my other strengths are distributing and passing, and I am always willing to fight for my team. I love being the one to set up a goal by making the perfect pass to my teammate as she makes a run.
I also love learning, and I am an excellent student. I am taking the highest available courses for all disciplines, and I have an unweighted GPA of 4.0. I am interested in studying Marine Biology and Ecology in college. Just like in soccer I am committed to working hard to achieve my goals.
