Derek Casini '22 Recruiting Profile

I will consider any university anywhere in the country that offers me a high academic experience and allows me to play baseball.  I am excelling in academics by maintaining a 4.0 GPA at Saratoga High, which is in the school district that Newsweek magazine has rated number 1 in California. For baseball, I have played on Little League and travel ball teams since I was 9 years old. Many of my teams have been top Bay Area tournament contenders. In one tournament I was MVP for catching 22 innings and hitting over .400. As a high school freshman I hit over .400 and was the team’s starting catcher-first basemen. I have been the starting varsity catcher as a sophomore and  junior  where I hit .426 with a .500 OBP. and 10 extra base hits.  To enhance my athleticism, I maintain an MMA training schedule (5 years) and a baseball personal training schedule with a former MLB catcher.  I love to be on teams that work hard, compete fiercely, but also have fun and respect the game.
