Let’s go Brocket! Are the words I would hear coming up to bat during little league. A time when every boy my age had the same dream, to play for a major league team. If I’m being honest, I’ve had the same dream since I broke my first window at the age of 3 using a mini bat and a golf ball. You may question my dream after I tell you this….I’ve never been on a winning team. I was part of the Homerun Club for my little league, but we never won enough games to even make TOCs. I kept playing. Every year I would proudly make the All Star team, but never made it to a championship game. I kept playing. Even at such a young age I was committed to say the least. My freshman year, I was offered a spot on the Varsity team, which I declined because playing time was more important to me than status. I hit my first grand slam the following year! After that I learned the meaning of patience and the value that comes along with it. As a three sport athlete, I know I have what it takes to compete for a college team.
In addition to my athletic abilities, the honors and AP classes I’ve taken, and plan to take, are preparing me for a successful 4 year program.
