Jacob Trabbie '20 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has been the center point of my life since I was four years old. I have grown, matured, and become a young man along the way.  The game of baseball has taught me many things in regards to approaching everyday life and how to deal with situations on and off the field. However, there is one circumstance that stands out, and has shaped me into the person I am today.

When I was in eighth grade, I had major surgery to remove a intramuscular lipoma from my leg. Post surgery recovery was going well until my health took a turn for the worse.  My leg got severely infected and I was rushed into emergency surgery. There was a point during that time in which I thought I may never be able to play the game I loved again. However, God blessed me and I was eventually able to play again after my health was back in order.

From that point on I was able to accomplish many things.  I am a four year varsity starter, and my team won a CIF Championship. On my summer team I was able to tie a 47 year old single season hit record. Throughout my high school career I have managed to maintain a 4.0 + gpa.  This proves to me that hard work really does pay off.

My health situation taught me not to take anything for granted and to play every play like it was my last because you have no idea when it will all come to an end. If given the opportunity to play for your team, you will not regret it. I am driven and determined to work hard in the classroom and on the field because tomorrow is not promised.
