With an older brother, I practically grew up on the baseball field. I have been playing some form of baseball since I was five years old. This is a sport I love. I have played competitively since I was nine years old with a few club teams and a few years ago settled at NorCal Baseball Club in California. I have a strong desire to play baseball in college and am focused on making that dream come true.
I see my college years as being a huge growth period both physically and mentally. I plan to study business and earn a degree that will lead me into the Financial Industry so I can work in my father’s company.
I represented Northern California and the Southwest with the USA Baseball program in 2015 & 2016. I have been known as a Utility player but have settled into the outfield where my speed and ability to track the ball have grown. I have also enjoyed time at 3rd base when my teams have needed that position filled.
I feel that I bring positive character traits to the teams I play with. I am a pretty easy going personality and get along well with most people. I believe if you spoke with many of my teammates they would say that I go with the flow and make a positive impact physically and emotionally on a team.
On the baseball field, I tend to be a positive influence to the team. I will strive to be an asset to the outfield and batting lineup. I commit to playing and exceling in any position that the coaching staff determines my abilities would best suit the team.
One of my coaches a couple years back wrote that I was a pleasure to coach and that they wished they had a program full of “Jared’s”…it was weird when he said it, but what I took away from that was how he appreciated my willingness to listen to instruction, make changes accordingly, and keep my ego and the “me” out of the situation and do what is best for the team. I learned a lot from that coach.
Most importantly, on and off the field I will be respectful to the game I love, appreciative always for the opportunity I have been given, and display an honorable demeanor to my coaches and teammates, knowing that the way I act reflects my team, my coaches, and the school I attend.
