Nathan Sherman '21 Recruiting Profile

I have had an amazing passion for baseball since I was 7 years old and I always push myself to get to the next level.  I always strive to become the best I can possibly be, on and off the field. I am a great team player and I understand how my actions can affect not only my performance, but also my team's performance. I do this by keeping my team energized in the dugout and having a positive attitude. My goal is to play college baseball, and it has been for years now.  I am also aware that it takes more than just athletics to be a desirable student-athlete.

From an academic standpoint, I am fully aware that the student part of being a student-athlete comes first.  I have always put in extra time if needed to improve my understanding of a subject. Working weekly with a math tutor is one example.  Also, being in 2 AP courses has helped me become better at prioritizing and managing my time. This has helped me to get my schoolwork done and to have time for baseball. 

I have the same passion and drive for my athletics.  It takes commitment and devotion to play this sport at the next level, and I am aware of all of the work needed to put in when nobody’s looking.  So whether it’s training in the gym before school or hitting in my backyard after practice, I have the drive to succeed and play baseball at the next level.
