Hello,
My name is Ryan Stephens. I am a baseball player from California looking to play college ball and possibly go all the way to the MLB. I first fell in love with baseball when I was eight or nine years old. My father asked me at the dinner table if I wanted to play baseball and I said, "Why not?!"
The first time I put that baseball glove on was the first time I really felt alive. I started playing little league for about five years. I then joined my first travel ball team during 2020. They were called the Gloves at the time but then recently renamed the team to Xcel baseball. I played for them for two years and then tried out for the baseball team at Yucaipa high and made the freshman team.
I played my freshman year and then ended up joining back up with the Xcel. I played for them for half of the summer of 2023 until I realized that I needed more publication. So I joined the well known travel team called Badlands Baseball. I've been playing for them for a couple of months now and I have been doing great at the plate along with doing great behind it.
I take the game of baseball very seriously and I love to win, but I also understand the value of losing. When losing, most people are told to shake it off and get ready for the next thing. But I do not brush it off, nor do I dwell on it either. I learn from it, I assess what I did wrong, realize what I should have done better, and then do it on the next play.
I know I would be a great fit for your team because I am great on the field and even better in the classroom. I have a 3.0 GPA with a goal of at least a 3.5 GPA by the end of the school year. I am in the enginnering academy for my school. On top of that, I am on the leadership team for the engineering academy. On this team, I have learned many leadership skills that can be applied in almost every situation on and off the field.
I truly look forward to speaking to some of the college coaches here and finding the perfect fit for me in terms of college. I have been very pleased with how I have worked during this baseball journey and excited to see what the future holds for me.
