Personal Statement

I LOVE BASEBALL.  I LOVE TO COMPETE.  I LOVE TO GET BETTER.   I would make an excellent asset to your team because I am a hard worker and I want to be the best. I don't settle for being mediocre and I want to keep improving every day.  I am a leader.  I am not necessarily a loud "rah rah leader"  but rather strive to lead through my work ethic and approach to the game, as well as through positive teammate relationships and the camaraderie of the dugout and field.  In life in general, and certainly in baseball, I don't allow the inevitable tough times to bring me down, and instead of giving up or accepting failure, I try my best to work through them.

I am athletic.  While Baseball has always been my favorite, I play and have played many sports (soccer, football, basketball,  and downhill skiing).  Playing these sports have undoubtedly contributed to my exceptional speed, foot work, and agility.  With a body frame that is naturally toward slender,  I've worked to build power and core strength through the weight room.  I continue to play basketball for my high school and enjoy competing.

Just as success on the baseball field is important to me,  so too is success academically.  I've chosen a difficult course load at a college preparatory high school that is challenging and increasingly rewarding.  Just as I have had to work to become a better baseball player,  I've also had to learn to become a better student.  I realize the importance of a good education and look forward to attending a college that has excellent academics while also being the right fit for me on the field.

I look forward to playing to the best of my abilities at the collegiate level, finding great success both on the field as well as in the classroom, and embracing the challenges that lie ahead.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
