Hello, my name is Mason Rego and I am interested in playing baseball in College.
I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old in Georgia. Early on my parents had me play many sports so that I would have the experience to pick sports that I would enjoy playing. Eventually I focused on Karate, Basketball, and Baseball as the sports I loved most. I completed my Karate Brown Belt by age 8 in Georgia. Then we moved to Colorado where karate is not much of a thing, so I refined my focus to basketball and baseball. At the end of my 6th grade year, I decided to focus just on baseball. Since then I have been playing on Club/Travel teams at the higher levels. I really enjoy the balance of individual and team performance of baseball.
As a baseball player, and athlete in general, I strive to be a good teammate and leader. I understand that my performance off the field is just as important as on the field. I enjoy setting a good example for my teammates, displaying a strong work ethic, and helping others when they are struggling. It only takes one person in the dugout to bring the whole team down. I never want to be that player. I spend a lot of time volunteering with the lower levels (I’m on Varsity) of my high school’s baseball program. I enjoy working with them, and helping them to develop their skills, and showing them what they can accomplish with hard work as I have done.
My accomplishments as a baseball player have been very fulfilling.

As a sophomore in high school, I am planning to focus my college education on General Business. I think this gives you a great base to build a multitude of careers on. I’m sure as I progress through my education I’ll make some course corrections as my life experiences take me in a different directions.
I am interested in playing baseball for a school that is a good fit for my educational needs, and that is also a good fit with my playing abilities. I think I will be more successful academically and athletically if I’m playing/attending a school that needs me as much as I need them. I am open to a variety of institutional levels and locations. I would not want to miss out on a an opportunity that would be positive for my future.
