I love baseball, and it's been a huge part of my life since I was 8. I've found I am often more mature than my peers, likely due to baseball. I've played up (above my age) my entire career despite being on the smaller side. Socializing with older players has helped me mature. I've always been a top-of-the-line-up, up-the-middle type of player and despite being younger, I've taken a leadership role in all the teams I've played for; largely because of the position I played (shortstop). My coaches and peers consider me a 5 tool player, with the ability to impact the game with all tools. My size (or lack thereof) has fueled my motivation and perseverance, I have to work harder than most to get noticed. I don't have the wow factor as if I was six foot four, but it's been a gift frankly. I feel I am much more prepared for life both academically and athletically because of my work ethic and the lesson baseball has taught me. My goal is to play baseball at the highest level for as long as the game will have me.
On the personal side, I love films, from super hero's to the classics like Citizen Kane. Robert De Niro movies are a can't miss for me. I've played and trained baseball for so many years, movies have always been a welcome diversion that didn't take a lot of energy. I could relax and enjoy, and over time it developed into another passion. It has made baseball more fun because it's not all or nothing, I have a balance. I also like to read screenplays and have written a couple of my own. I'd like to go to a D1 school that has a good film and/or English program.
*NOTE: Due to Covid and my family's move to Colorado in September of 2020 baseball was not an option in 2020. There was no baseball in CA and by the time we arrived in CO fall ball teams were already full (and limited). I continued working out and started playing again in the summer of 2021. I home-schooled (due to Covid) my sophomore year. Now however I'm back to on-site school and will be part of the Douglas County baseball program when it starts in the spring of 2022.
