While earning a bachelor's degree is my top priority, playing baseball at the collegiate level is my greatest goal. My strongest attributes as a teammate and player are my work ethic and team-first approach. I understand the importance of playing a role, doing a job, and making sacrifices for the greater good of the team.
As a freshman at Eaton High School in Eaton, Colorado, I was a three-sport athlete (cross country, basketball, baseball), but focused my attention on baseball and basketball for my final three years. During my sophomore year, I was a role-player on the 2-time 3A State Championship Eaton High School varsity baseball team, playing left field in late innings and as a pinch runner. My greatest accomplishment in baseball came in my junior year as the starting right fielder, pitcher, and two-hole hitter for the Eaton High School varsity baseball team, where we achieved the 3A State Championship title for the third year in a row. During the state tournament, my batting average was .562 with 9 runs scored in 4 games. I was the winning pitcher for the first game in the state tournament. In 2023, I ended the high school season leading the Eaton Reds varsity baseball team in doubles, triples, and fielding percentage. In addition, I ended the season with the following rankings in the 3A Patriot League: #6 in runs with 39, #9 in batting average (.470), #9 in RBIs with 32, #12 in on-base percentage (.578), a fielding percentage of 1000, and a pitching ERA of 2.62.
I am a leader both on and off of the field. I have high integrity, which has opened doors to other leadership opportunities such as a LINK Leader (Eaton High School's leadership program), a Camp Counselor at Vacation Bible School, and the Sports Editor for Red Ink, my high school newspaper. As a confirmed Lutheran, I rely on my faith and family when faced with adversity.
As a dedicated student, I have accomplished many academic achievements. My current GPA is a 3.79 and I received an overall score of 990 on the SAT exam. I have made Honor Roll every semester of my high school career, even while taking college level classes. I received recognition as an Academic All State athlete and an Academic All Conference athlete.
