As a young girl, I have always had the dream of playing basketball at the college level. I watched basketball for as long as I can remember and my favorite part was the IQ. I watched players and teams that seemed to have little to no chance of winning a game pull out the unthinkable with the highest knowledge of the game. Playing with the same girls for years in a small town, I realized that I wasn't always going to be the most talented or athletic, so I invested my time into learning all the perks and little things I could do to advance myself and stand out. With this in mind, playing for a college is always on my mind. Being a part of something greater than myself and competing in something I love and would be the greatest opportunity. In my hometown, Eaton, girls basketball is not recognized for much and the diversity of players is little to none. With that in mind, the guard load is heavy and the post is light. As a 5'5” sophomore, I played "four" positions. I played the guard position when we had the bigger girls, or posts, in and the post when one was out. I developed my defensive game as well as improved in rebounding. My biggest goal going into the season was to leave a different impact, I wanted to play a majority of the game and be an important piece in every aspect. I wanted to diversify my game and although I am still working on that piece I have come much further in the last year. Academically I have maintained about a 3.8 submerging myself into the highest classes possible. I like to be a thinker and provide my opinions but in a professional matter so anything that has to do with learning I am all for. I currently participate in FCCLA and Student Council at my school. I am the Vice President of FCCLA and the Vice President of my class for Student Council. I also joined a group called LINK through my school that leads freshman through their first year of high school and helps them with their transition.
