Hello Coaches.
Going into my senior year of high school, achieving my goals are approaching faster than ever. My collegiate academic goal is to find a university that I fit in well and at and a place where I will receive the most out of the university or college by me personally taking the opportunity for the best education I can. Athletically, I am looking for a program where their is great respect, confidence and guidance that I meld with and can bring my passion to the team as well. I am a leader and I have the aspiration and work ethic to play at the highest level. I want a school where I will work to receive a high level experience both on the field and beyond with professors, players, and coaches.
The reason I am a good candidate for any team is that I really fit in anywhere. Any team, crowd, or group, I always find a way to connect with the surrounding people and my temperament is a loose but driven player. The difference between me and other recruits is not all other recruits have the same winning mentality that I do. In 2 years of high school baseball, our team has gone 50-5 with 2 state championships. I was a starter my Freshman and Sophomore years. Through my years of club baseball, I have been a critical part of another 2 additional state championships and a 4th place finisher in a National World Series event. As a leader, I feel my will to learn, work hard, have fun and winning is contagious among my teammates. This formula seems to create success.
Additionally, my abilities are more than being a baseball player, I am an athlete. I also am involved with track and field, as well as work with a trainer a couple days a week to better my agility, balance, and overall athleticism year round. This has been my regimen for the past 4 years. I don't run into a lot of recruits that put in the work. I know coaches have to worry about whether their players are getting it done in the classroom, but I can assure you that will never be an issue with me. I am committed to my academics over everything else as you can see with my 4.0 GPA and AP/Honors classes.
My final message for coaches is there are a lot of college recruits that don't stick with a program for the full 2 or 4 years. I know I can and will be an important part of the team and school from the day I set foot on campus and throughout my life. I've looked so forward to this time in my life and my pre-college goals I've set are close to complete. I am ready to begin a new chapter and take my game and abilities to the next level.
I welcome you to contact me in the very near future.
Thank you,
Nolan Johnson, Class of 2021
