My name is Caleb Deines and am in the class of 2025. I love baseball so much and strongly want to play at the next level. The positions I play are infield and pitcher.
What drives me to play baseball and love it so much, and who do I play for? Well, my drive comes from the love of the game and that I have fun every time, plus it allows me to be a light to my teammates and coaches for God. Moreover, I also compete to be the best so I can prove people wrong who have written me off because of my size or faith. Lastly, I play for God and He deserves all the glory. I pray to Him before every at-bat and after. He gives me my talent so I want to use it to glorify Him.
I attend Merino High School in northeastern Colorado. This past year as a freshman I started varsity at 2B and 3B on our state championship team. I started all 26 games of our season and had a .500 batting average. For pitching, I only threw 8 innings in varsity due to not pitching the first half of the season because of my recovery from a shoulder injury. However, my ERA was 0.00. My fielding percentage was 1.000 on the year.*
During the summer I played baseball with the Buckley Bombers to further inhance my skills. In past summers I have played travel ball for my hometown team, the Sterling Titans, and for a club based in Arvada, Colorado, the North Jefferson Club Fireballs.
Through the years I have grown to love baseball because it has both team and individual components. For example, when you come to the plate you have to come through on your own, and in the field you have to work together to make every out. As you can see I truly love every part of baseball from fielding grounders to hitting dingers. I greatly appreciate your time and consideration on reading this letter and pray that you would consider me to become a part of your future trips to Omaha.
Thanks,
Caleb Deines
