I have always believed that academics are my priority as a student. I try to focus on what needs to be accomplished in order to be successful in any setting whether it is the classroom or a sporting arena. These characteristics lead me to being recognized by my teachers as a leader in the classroom in 8th grade. I earned the Connecticut Association of Schools Scholar Leader award for academics and leadership for my school. In my freshman year I earned All-Academic as a wrestler, which entails earning a varsity letter and a 90+ grade point average.
In the community I have been volunteering for little league clinics. I enjoy helping the younger athletes with a game that I love so much. By helping them it has taught me how to lead my team. One of my strong points is leading by example. I am not the most vocal person at times but I like to let my actions dictate how I lead others. I also am a focused player on the field and try and get done what the team is trying to accomplish. I work well when there are a set of goals in place for myself and the coaches’ goal for the team.
