Hi Coaches, my name is Cooper Benoit I’m currently 16, and a Junior at New Fairfield High School in CT. I’m a left-handed batter and thrower as I play first base, outfield, and pitcher. In the fall and summer, I play for the CT Rangers Showcase Team, and I’m looking forward to playing my third season of High School baseball in the spring for New Fairfield.
I have played baseball since I was 5 years old; it has become a huge part of my life today. I like being a leader for my team, whether it’s through supporting my teammates, or my play. I love everything about the baseball environment, on the field or in the dugout, and most importantly helping my team succeed.
Outside of baseball, academics are essential to me, and I strive to excel in the classroom. Recently I had the opportunity to attend the HOBY CLeW Leadership program at UCONN, which was a great experience in teaching me the qualities of a leader in sports and life in general. In my time away from sports and academics I volunteer with youth sports, and enjoy hanging out with my friends.
In the winter I play basketball and have been doing so since fourth grade. I enjoy how it's different from baseball and gives me the ability to work on other skills as well as the physicality and team dynamics. This season as a freshman, I was able to play for both the Freshman and JV teams where we had a successful season. Over the past year, I have been fortunate enough to attend a training facility with a focus on strength, speed, and agility. During this time, I’ve developed a passion for training and have been able to see my hard work transfer to the field through significant increases in my measurables.
I would love to continue my baseball career outside of High School, and I would like to find the best school that fits me academically and athletically. If you’re looking for a 2026 first baseman, left-handed pitcher, or outfielder then I welcome you to look through my profile.
Thank you, Cooper Benoit, New Fairfield High School Class of 2026
