Jason Johnson '21 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has been my passion ever since I started playing travel ball at 8 years old. I love everything about baseball. I have played Little League since tee ball, play travel ball in the spring, summer, and fall, was on my middle school baseball team and am now on my high school varsity team as a starting pitcher.

I have played first and third, played the outfield because of my strong arm, and catcher when I was younger, and have pitched for several years. I really started to love pitching because of the challenge. Being involved in every play of the game is exciting, and can be humbling at the same time. Pitching makes me feel confident in myself.

I get along well with my teammates, and I really enjoy talking with the other pitchers on my teams. I like telling and hearing stories about how hard we threw and new pitches that we should try. 

I have always dreamed of playing baseball in college. Working hard in baseball, and in school work, are both very important to me. I believe a strong work ethic is what makes me get along great with my coaches and will help me in the future, wherever that may lead.
