My most memorable season as a baseball player was when my 12U Cal Ripken All-Star team won the New Hampshire State Tournament and finished in the final four in the New England Regional tournament. Despite this great season, I did not hit well in the regional tournament. This taught me patience and drove me to work harder to become the best baseball player I can be. With that effort, I made the Varsity Baseball Team at Cardigan Mountain School as a 7th grader; it's rare for 7th graders to make varsity teams at CMS. My work-ethic and passion for the game helped me turn a setback into something positive.
I set exceedingly high standards for myself as an athlete and as a student. In the past when I didn't meet these standards, I used to get angry at myself and lose confidence, but now I know that I just need to work harder to meet these standards. My goal is to be the best student-athlete I can be. I love to learn and study, and I'm proud of my work ethic in the classroom. I want to go to a school that can offer me the education, learning environment, and baseball program that will continue to challenge me and prepare me for a successful career, whether that is in my chosen field of study or in baseball.
