I am happy to announce I have committed to attend Eastern Connecticut State University. I would like to thank Coach Odenwaelder, Coach O'Neill, Coach Sylvester, and the entire ECSU coaching staff for the incredible opportunity they have provided for me to advance both my academic and athletic pursuits. I would also like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and the CT Rage for supporting me and helping me to prepare for the next level of play at ECSU - let the hard work escalate. Go Warriors!!!
As a child I loved sports. I played soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and baseball but it was baseball that I always loved the most. Most kids wake up in the morning and watch cartoons, but I would wake up, and the first thing on t.v. would be Sports Center. I knew the stats of every player and the scores of every game. My older brother played baseball and I was always the little kid hanging around with the big boys. I learned to play by watching them.
Through the years playing baseball has given me a solid work ethic both on and off the field, and has shown me the importance of being a team player. This year I will be captain of my high school team and lead my team by example in a dedicated and respectful way.
On my high school team, I have been a starting varsity shortstop for the past three years. This year I was named All-Conference and Defensive Player of The Year. I throw right and bat left and consider myself quick out of the box. On defense, my mindset is that there is no ball I can’t get to and every practice is a chance to improve.
I am a strong candidate academically as well. With a GPA of 3.64, I am committed to my education. I am involved in extracurricular activities that have developed my leadership skills as well as participating in outreach programs and charitable organizations. I’m looking for a college program that will not only provide me with a strong academic foundation but one that I can continue to grow as a student-athlete.
