As a P.O., I am two different players with two different jobs. On game days when I'm starting, I am focused and quiet. I want make sure I'm mentally and physically prepared for battle. On those days, my job is to work with my catcher to outsmart the hitters. On other days and at practice, I use all of my energy to get my teammates pumped up, support my coaches by keeping the book, or whatever it takes to help us be a better team than we were the day before. As the incoming captain for our 2023 season, I look forward to both jobs.
While I love baseball and know I can compete in college, I am not single-minded. From anime to music to my advanced classes to my job as a children's swimming instructor to my involvement at church, I have a wide range of interests. Some of them help my performance on the mound, but all of them help me become a better teammate. From the loudest coaches to the quietest backups, I'm the kind of player and person who connects with both and everyone in between.
