Braden Lawson '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Braden Lawson. I am a LHP, Outfielder and 1B. I am currently 6’2”, weigh 190. I am currently 16 and just finished my Sophomore year at Lake Mary High School in Florida and summer club w FTB Mizuno out of Tampa FL. .

 I just completed JV baseball season at the High School where I was a PO,  and this summer playing travel season, 16U, with the FTB Mizuno as a LHP PO. We played in many tournaments including Perfect Game, Prospect Wire and ended the season at a Prospect Tourney where I had a 0.0 ERA after 90 pitches  

I am looking forward to my Junior  season in HS,  and continuing as a PO, focusing on my academics and continuing to develop my skills. My favorite subject is science, earth space and engineering. I plan on continuing to take honors and AP classes to make sure my GPA is a 3.8 or better. In middle school I was in the gifted program and achieved A/B honor role throughout. In college I would like to major in some type of engineering.

I have decided that baseball is my favorite sport after also playing football and basketball. I know being a lefty is also a benefit and my favorite position is pitcher. I am currently working on my velocity, arm strength, change up and breaking ball. Some key traits that I know are critical are teamwork, attitude, sportsmanship, work ethic and respecting the game. One item I have heard from multiple coaches is that I am coachable. These traits really came to light in Little League, Travel Ball and my trip to Cooperstown as a 12 year old.

My goal is to have a very successful HS career in academics and baseball. My next goal is to play baseball in college at an excellent academic school in the Southeast but open to other locations for the right opportunity and school. Following this, I would like to have a shot to play professional baseball as a left handed pitcher or outfielder. Thank you for reading my profile and statement.
