Tyler Michael '20 Recruiting Profile

My Name is Tyler Michael, I am a 17 year old senior (2020) at Lake Mary Prep in Lake Mary, FL.  My ambition is to become a student athlete at the collegiate level. Presently my unweighted GPA is 3.40, (AP and Advanced Honors) unweighted GPA above 3.6. 

Baseball is my passion and my ambitions are high, however I'm a realist as well. At 5'5 145 lbs I've spent my baseball career having to work harder and cleaner then anyone on the diamond and weight room to prove myself. Being short may be a barrier to some players, for me its motivation. I pride myself on hard work and exceptional defense. Defense, defense, defense, I have been fortunate enough to learn, listen, work and refine my skillsets under the watchful eye of coach Bien Figueroa. Bien spent a decade as a minor league player and manager in the, Cardinals, Orioles and Giants system. I appreciate all that he has taught me.

I believe I am good enough to play baseball at any level however realistically at my high I won't turn up on many DI coaches wish lists. Truthfully I see myself as a Division II/III player. Offensively I'm a leadoff or 2 hitter, my game is build around plate discipline. If you value OBP, stealing, moving runners, over bunting, line drive singles and gap doubles to go along with great defense.  In the off season I trained with a speed coach, strength coach and yoga master in efforts to increase speed, strength and flexibility.
