My name is Justin Dambruck and I was born in the Netherlands. When I was 4 years old, we moved to Curacao (where my parents are originally from) and at 5 years old I started playing baseball and the rest is history.
Curacao produces MLB level middle infielders like Andrelton Simmons, Didi Gregorius, Ozzie Albies and Jonathan Schoop. I have a picture of Jonathan Schoop handing me a trophy as the best pitcher of a tournament. The last time I pitched though was in 2019 in Vero Beach for the Curacao All Star team in the World Regional RBI tournament.
I have played internationally in various divisions for Curacao All Star teams in places like Miami, Mexico and Vero Beach.
The highlight of my career so far came in 2019 where I was 1 of only 2 players from Curacao selected by the Team Kingdom of the Netherlands to join their All-Star Team to play in the U15 European Championship which was also a qualification tournament for the World Cup for U15. I had a very solid errorless tournament .400/.647/.700 and was 2nd overall in the tournament in RBIs. This tournament taught me to be adaptive in a short period as I had to work and play with other players I never met before, and this in a big tournament.
Thanks to this performance I received an invitation from MLB to attend their European All-Star camp in Germany where they invited the 50 best European players. Unfortunately, I could not attend as I was in the middle of moving to Florida.
As hinted above, in 2019 I moved to Florida to pursue my dreams of getting a degree while being able to combine this with my athletic abilities. Since being in Florida I also play the 3B position and can now say with confidence that I am a full fledge infielder.
It has been hard moving away from my family at such a young age (14), but I am managing this well and I can always fall back on the game I love. Baseball has always been there for me.
I am looking for a school whit a good combination of Academics and Athletics where I can develop further as a person and add value to their program. All while sharing my travel and cultural experiences with my teammates and classmates. I can speak 3 languages and am a team player who is always willing to do what it takes to help the team.
I am ready to take this journey into my future while being a part of an excellent school and program.
Respectfully,
Justin Dambruck
