Tell coaches about your collegiate goals and aspirations.
My short term goals are to graduate from college with a Bachelor degree in Engineering or other field and to play baseball at the collegiate level. In addition, my long term goal is to continue working smart and hard to try to experience playing baseball beyond college.
What makes you a good candidate for their team?
I started playing baseball at the age of ten, and ever since I was taught the concept of team, team, team. I understand how every player has a role to play to make the team better in order to compete and win. I am a smart and hard worker who leads by example.
What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics?
Throughout my young life I have learned that baseball is a game of ups and downs. Like any other player out there, I have had my share of downs. Baseball is a game where failure is part of the equation, and as a player I have learned to bounced back within at bat, an inning, a game. In regards to physical development, I am a late bloomer, I grew from 5'7" to 6'1" in the last year causing what they call "growing pains." Last season I played with it while trying to contribute in any positive way possible for my team. Right now, I am "growing pains" free and I am working with a trainer to improve my agility and speed. I have lost 26 pounds and I am in the best shape of my life as I am getting ready for my high school senior year. In life, I have always faced adversity with a positive attitude and have never allowed any challenge to deviate me from my goals. From April 2021 to the present, I have workout with a trainer for the first time in my life and have lost 30lbs; which have helped me with speed and agility, improving my 60yds dash time from 9.60... 8.70...8.00... and recently 7.70.
I can play first base, third base, and the outfield. I have always been a discipline hitter that knows the strike zone and understand the importance of a quality at bat. I can hit the ball to all fields with power. And when the situation calls for it, I can make an adjustment to hit the ball on the ground to the opposite field in order to move the runner from second to third with less that two outs. I would rather bring the runner in, but I can make such adjustments as well.
I have been an A student since elementary school to the present. I feel confident that my performance throughout college will continue to be at a higher level.
