Jacob Traeger '24 Recruiting Profile

I am excited to be a part of a collegiate baseball program because it is a bigger stage, where the pace is quicker, and expectations are higher.  I am no stranger to hard work, commitment, and sacrifice, because I  have always had to work hard to achieve my goals. Being part of a collegiate team will help me continue to develop my leadership and teambuilding skills while completing my four-year college degree and preparing for my career. After completing my four years, I hope to take the skills I have used while being part of a team and put them towards my future goal of becoming an airline pilot. 

What makes me a great candidate for any college team is a combination of  leadership skills and my easy-going nature. I was raised to have a strong moral character and great work ethic.  I always build my teammates up and I keep a positive attitude even in tough situations. I am encouraging and have the ability to motivate others. I am extremely calm under pressure and never let the small stuff effect the outcome.

The thing that sets me apart from other recruits is my ability to build relationships quickly. I am a self-starter who always wants to exceed expectations. I am a strategic pitcher who prides himself on accuracy and preparation. I also have the work ethic needed to improve every year.

I am a student who works independently and proactively. I have alway excelled academically because from a young age my parents made sure I understand school is a top priority.
