My collegiate goals are to attend college, play baseball, and graduate with a degree in public administration or political science/pre-law. My career goals are to work in the sports industry, possibly in sports management, or in a legal role. My goals in college are the same as they are now as a high school student: to be a strong student-athlete and to be an exceptional role model for those around me. I have made straight A's throughout my school years and I plan to continue working hard as a high school and college student. I am a focused and driven person in my classes and at improving my baseball skills.
I think I am a good candidate for a collegiate team because I am a team player, a prolific student, and a hard worker. I have been taught to be respectful and to have a good work ethic. I love the game of baseball. I love to study past and current players, review stats, watch games, practice, and most of all, just play. Currently, I am a member of the 16u Astros Team East Cobb/East Cobb Astros TECB (Marietta, Georgia) travel team. This team is coached by Mike Zilleox. For the spring season, I play on an academy team, East Cobb ATEC. I consider this team as my high school. This team is coached by Tolley Lovejoy.
I pitch primarily with a low 3/4 arm slot but drop down to sidearm frequently. I throw a fastball, change-up, curveball, and slider. I am the closer for the 16u Astros Team East Cobb. For 3/4, I throw around 83-86. For Sidearm, I am throwing around 78-82. At the PG National Main Event-Underclass in Fort Myers, FL., I struck out 8 batters out of 9 and no batters reached 1st base. Here are a scouts’s comments on my pitching in FL, “Logan Martin (2019 RHP, Cartersville, GA) sat 79-82mph on his fastball with his slider at 70mph and his changeup at 73mph. Martin pitches with good tempo on the mound pitching from a low 3/4 arm slot keeping his fastball down in the zone. Martin's slider has tight spin with nice late sweeping break.”
I think what makes me different from other recruits is my work ethic with school and with baseball. I am highly motivated as a student and as an athlete and I try to do my best to be a good person and treat others with respect.
