What’s up! My name is William Taylor, an optimistic, hard-working, and self-motivated student-athlete on and off the baseball field. I attend Columbus High School (Columbus, GA); class of 2024. I have been passionate about playing baseball, at the collegiate and professional level, since age 7, and I constantly do all that I can to improve. My future aspirations include a Doctorate in Medicine or Dentistry, with an eventual private practice, where I help others live healthier, happier lives with their families, as well as providing a lifestyle for myself that involves fishing with my dad, family, and friends, in addition to cooking flavorful and tasty dishes.
I pride myself in being an asset to any organization I am a part of, as I want to be apart of a winning culture and have teammates that respect and admire me for the work that I do on and off the field. I am a coachable and resilient player who can navigate various types of obstacles. Having a ‘cool head’ and poise under stress displays a leader who can also accept guidance from family, friends, players and coaches. This aspect of my character separates me from others, as I can ‘cool off’, just as quickly as I can get hyped for my team. Just as iron sharpens iron, I love the competitiveness that comes with being involved in any program I’m blessed to be a member of. This type of atmosphere allows me to showcase my baseball skills and athleticism, as well as, help improve my teammates’ abilities, too. It ensures I am part of a brotherhood of love for one another and creates the desire for everyone to be successful.
Currently, I’m an active participant in my school, clubs, honor societies, and different organizations. I’m a top student in the classroom with a 4.52 GPA, and I’ve obtained valuable knowledge from Investment Club, HOSA – Future Health Professionals, and Cancer Kids First Columbus, as well as, served leadership roles in Jack and Jill of America, Inc (Columbus, GA chapter). Last program year, I served as vice president of the organization, and previously, have served in various other capacities. Being a part of a team outside of baseball isn’t new to me, as I’m a member of the Step Team for the Jack and Jill Columbus, GA Chapter, where I helped lead our team to a 1st place win in this year’s Southeastern Regional Step Show and served as a Regional Delegate on a regional policies and procedures committee. Additionally, I give back to my community as a volunteer at local Boys and Girls Clubs (3 years), a non-profit coffee shop on Sundays (1 year), and an MC for holiday productions at my church. I also complete 20+ volunteer hours per year for National Beta Club at my school.
I do my best to be a great all-around individual because it will benefit me in any program, I am blessed to be apart of. From a young age, I’ve understood that only God knows where I will go in life; however, whatever I do, I plan to never stop working to be the best at it.
