Personal Statement

My collegiate goals would be me being able to attend a great organization and to have great coaches that can further my talents as a player and a young men. What makes me a good candidates for their team would be that even if we are down I will always have a postive energy and the ability of me learning and growing from other in a postive way . I have the ability to take criticism from other and using that criticism to improve my game. What make me different from other recruits would also be me be a strong competitor and my academic being . My gpa was a 2.9 leaving the 9 th grade my final grade were a 95 , 89 , 97 , and 77 . But now as a 10th grader I am improving my gpa by using good study habbits going to tutorial. These are my factual evidence on why collegiate school should be interested in me. My name is Demetress Broughton class of 2022'.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Demetress continues to shine on the diamond In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH. Hands are loose and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has a good eye at the plate as he drew 5 BB while going 1 for 3. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph with tailing action. Slider displays 2/8 shape with tight spin and sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Demetress continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. He competes on the bump. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and developing off speed pitches will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, is very coachable, and plays with high energy.

On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight run but throws too hard, resembling fastball. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half efficiently.

Breaking ball sits from 60-61 mph with 2/8 shape with gradual break. Changeup sits from 52-53 mph with slight tail but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. Slider sits 62-66 mph with tight spin and short break. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. With 2 years to further develop, Demetress has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.
